A masjid for today, a legacy for tomorrow
In 2021 we purchased the former Riverside Conservative Club on Neville Street, to meet the growing need for a larger multipurpose space. Work is underway to turn it into the masjid and community hub our congregation needs: a larger prayer hall, dedicated facilities for sisters, classrooms for the maktab and room for the youth.
The building is ours. Finishing it is something we do together.

About us
Riverside is a vibrant inner-city area of Cardiff, close to the city centre. It has a very diverse population, with many different religions and cultures.
Masjid Uthman and Riverside Islamic School began with classes for the tarbiyah of a handful of students in a private property in Riverside. By the grace of Allah (SWT), the masjid and school were formally established in 2006 to accommodate the growing Muslim community.
Whether you have prayed with us for years, are new to Cardiff, or are simply curious about Islam, you are welcome here.
What's on during the week
Alongside the five daily prayers, the masjid runs programmes for every part of the community, tailored for brothers, sisters and the local youth:
- Daily maktab for children aged 4+
- Islamic sciences for adults, e.g. hadith
- Trips away and leisure activities for the youth
- Health and wellbeing seminars
- Marriage counselling and Hajj training seminars
- Bereavement seminars and janazah support
Jumu'ah is at 1:30pm BST and 12.30pm during winter.
